Home made toenail fungus remedies you shouldn’t be without.
It’s ugly and disturbing to have a fungus on your toenail. There are brown or yellow streaks on the nail(s) and you may not want to show your bare feet in public. This fungus is not life-threatening or dangerous but it is embarrassing!
You will want to get rid of this unsightly fungus but perhaps you don’t want to spend money going to a podiatrist or internist who will give you a prescription for a drug you may not want to put into your body, as most of them are tough on your liver. There are home toenail fungus remedies that will get rid of the problem at a cheaper cost and with little or no side effects.
Some home remedies for nail fungus.
One of the toenail fungus remedies that worked for me was tea tree oil. You can purchase this item in a pharmacy or any store that sells vitamins, such as Mrs. Green’s. This usually comes in a small bottle, not unlike a nail polish container. It also has a brush inside. Cut your toenails as short as you are comfortable with and “paint” the tea tree oil on it twice a day until the problem is gone (usually in about three weeks). Although the tea tree oil is not as cheap as some other remedies, you will use very little and it is nearly always guaranteed to work.
Another one of the toenail fungus remedies known to work is soaking your toenails in white vinegar every day for about 15-20 minutes. This should also be done twice a day. One other soaking solution to use is 3% Hydrogen Peroxide. If you find this to be too harsh on your skin, you can dilute it with plain water. With both remedies, be sure to thoroughly dry your feet and nails afterward. Fungi thrive in damp conditions.
There are other toenail fungus remedies you may want to try such as soaking the toenails in Listerine or Scope, also for 15-20 minutes. Rubbing alcohol is a similar solution to soak your feet in.
